Pomegranate 'Salavatski' (Punica Granatum) Indigenous Made PeppermintOriginally imported from Afghanistan, the Salavatski Pomegranate is a cold hardy variety that can be grown as far north as zone 6B with winter protection. Reddish orange flowers appear in late spring and early summer with fruit ripening in late fall. Its a self fertile variety so no cross pollinator is required. The large red fruit have thick skin and crunchy, juicy seeds inside that can be eaten fresh in salads or made into juice. It prefers full sun
