Late Victorian Ceylon Cornflower Sapphire Solitaire Ring hardstone characterised by opium poppies andDATE: Victorian, 1896 Cool Late Victorian solitaire ring set with a vibrant 1. 5 carat Ceylon cornflower sapphire. The stone is gorgeous, a natural Sri Lankan sapphire mined and cut circa 1890; its a slightly asymmetrical native cut (meaning it was cut on location at the mine) and displays an intense mid blue colour particularly vivid and with great brilliance. It's set in an 18k gold solitaire mount with eight claws and deeply grooved shoulders;
