The blue has a slight flow appearance. The border is an embossed lattice weave design trimmed in gold. Maastricht, Holland, was the city where Petrus Regout established the De Sphinx pottery in 1836. De Sphinx operated under the name Petrus Regout & Co. until 1899. The firm was noted
