The lid decoration is superb. The background is butterfly wing and the iridescence is something to be seen! In the foreground the silhouette of a Rio beach scene. The isn't any loss of design or fading. The ancient brass case has a deep patina and this is a charming collectible. It comes with the original powder plate which still has the original sticker on the base. It reads as follows: CETTE
