Antique Italian Renaissance Brass Lucerne Florentine Chatelaine Oil Lamp, Circa 1860 Sold on December 1st 1998A good 19th century Italian 'Florentine' or 'Lucerne' 4 burner brass oil lamp, in the Renaissance Revival manner, circa 1860. Designed to burn whale oil which is placed into a reservoir with a lift up cover that would have four wicks, one to each burner. The lamp having a carrying handle above a pair of screens, over the four burners is a chatelaine of tools comprising; a pair of wick nips, a bucket, a lamp snuffer and a twisted brass tool to clean
