Catananche caerulea is a clump-forming perennial with pretty lavender blue coloured flowers with dark centres held on wiry stems that come from a basal clump of grassy grey-green coloured leaves
The plants form a bushy clump of bright green leaves from which the tall erect spires of flowers grow into tall slender columns of blue flowers with a wispy tip The flowers open from the bottom up If you are also wanting a great flower for cutting then this is also a great choice
Eucomis | Tiny Piny plant Also known as MasterwortEucomis 'Tiny Piny Ruby' was bred in New Zealand and has been crossed with two dwarf South African species, to create a lovely pint sized hybrid. Eucomis 'Tiny Piny" forms a good sized clump and each rosette has extremely wavy edged leaves plummy coloured leaves and is topped, with 15cm spikes of small pineapple flowers.. a perfect size for the rock garden or a pot. Tiny Piny will multiply easily so you can get more plants. Likes a sunny well drained
