Antique 19th C Greek Orthodox Icon Virgin Mary & Jesus St. George & Dragon 1800 Redo Jones lives in the BurbankSOLD A large & fine antique early 19th century hand painted & gilded Greek Orthodox icon, egg tempera on panel, circa 1800. The icon with a central figural group of the Virgin & Jesus, the heavens above them with God & Jesus looking down, flanked with angels seated on clouds. The Virgin is surrounded by saints in gilded cartouches with Greek caligraphy, the Virgin also with a long ribbon with Greek caligraphy. The base with four panels; the two
