17th-century ruby foil-backed cluster ring set in fine 18ct gold with the remains of black enamel under the bezel

These earrings were originally post and clip earrings but the post has since been removed

with a diamond-set bail

The pin has made a dent in the back of the amethyst setting and the central drop has been re-attached at some point nevertheless this is a glorious piece of jewellery with bright foiling and a beguiling mix of colours

This piece was made circa 1860 and includes a French eagle mark
