Wax Works Diorama 18th century It has been dry scrapedA very unusual 19th century diorama, depicting workers on a plantation. One of the workers is pushing a wheelbarrow of plants, the other is carrying a basket of fruit veg on his head and there is a little dog snapping at their feet. The figures are made of wax, with cotton and velum clothing. The diorama is contained in a hexagonal glass ebony case with ebony feet and finial.
