Horizon e.V.

Against the backdrop of rising homelessness, HORIZONT has opened a further house in the summer of 2018 to complement its first HORIZONT house, where homeless women and their children are given a secure temporary home and holistic care under one roof, offering permanent and affordable housing. Horizont is thus building a bridge for mothers and children from the existing HORIZONT house and opening the door to other families threatened by homelessness.

To promote participation in society, the house also houses socio-cultural facilities that are open to the neighbourhood. In addition to 48 KomPro B apartments with a total of 152 flatmates, 89 of whom are children, there is a crèche, a kindergarten, rooms for a variety of educational programmes, a restaurant, a cultural stage, workshops for children, young people and adults and an adventure garden.

HORIZONT thus goes one step further in its goal of sustainably integrating people who have long lived on the fringes of society.
